In
the heart of Andalucia, our beautiful country estate – La
Posada del Torcal , is one of Spain’s most sought after
Wedding venues.
Each wedding is tailor made to suit the needs of individual
client requirements. For clients who are coming from
overseas, we strongly suggest a 2 or 3 day
visit to La Posada del Torcal, at least 3 – 6 months before
your wedding day, for a detailed planning meeting, where you
will meet Karen, the hotel owner who will work closely with
you to plan all aspects of your wedding celebrations
Clients come from all over the world to be married here in
the heart of Andalucia. We try to invoke a “ flavor of
Spain “ into the proceedings, whilst being faithful to the
traditional wedding ceremony.
La Posada del Torcal itself has 9 en suite bedrooms and the
Bridal Suite, which means that a total of 20 people can be
accommodated in the hotel.

|
We
can offer further accommodation in our 3 villas,
which will accommodate up to 20 people and we have
special arrangements for discounted rates with our
local hotels.

Getting Married in Spain....

Roman
Catholic Marriages
A
Catholic ceremony involving a foreigner requires the
permission of the local Archbishop in Malaga and the
following documents : -
Proof that both
parties are free to marry. This is usually a
sworn statement by the parents of both parties
stating that he/she has never been married,
witnesses by the parish priest. It must be
translated and notorised.
All Roman Catholic Marriage services must be
held in a Roman Catholic Church. The local
parish church, located in the pretty hamlet of
La Joya (just a few minutes away
from La Posada ) may be used for the ceremony.

Civil
Marriage and Wedding Blessing
I t
is possible to have a civil marriage in Spain, but for
non-residents of Spain, it is a fairly complicated
procedure. So we suggest one of two alternatives.
Arrange a Civil/Registry
Office ceremony in your country of origin a few days before
you fly to Spain, or alternatively
have a civil ceremony in Gibraltar
– which we can arrange for you.
Following a
civil marriage, you will then have a Wedding Blessing
Ceremony in the beautiful gardens of La Posada del Torcal.
An English-speaking vicar from the coast will conduct the
ceremony or for those couples preferring a non
religious ceremony, a Humanist will conduct the ceremony.

Planning you Wedding Day.....
Between
June – September we do strongly suggest that you plan for a
late afternoon ceremony, as daytime temperatures can be a
little overwhelming for the younger and more elderly guests.
Your guests will arrive at 5:30 pm and be welcomed in La
Posada del Torcal’s jasmine filled cobble stoned courtyard
to the sounds of Classical Spanish Guitar Music, played live
by one of Andalucia’s top guitarists. After being handed an
ice cold glass of Fino, the guests will proceed out into the
gardens, and make their way to the specially constructed
outdoor gazebo and altar area .
|
Following the Ceremony, your guests will be served a glass
of Spanish Cava and a tapa, and can enjoy a stroll in the
gardens whilst the formal
Photographs are taken in the stunning gardens, against the
backdrop of the El Torcal Park. You and your family can be
secure in the knowledge that your total privacy is assured
and only your invited guests will be present in the Hotel
and grounds.
Your Wedding Supper will then be held in the gardens around
the pool.
A
three-course meal with a selection of fine Spanish Wines and
the best Spanish Cava for the toasts. Then all that remains
is to dance the night away under the stars to the sounds of
our resident Spanish Trio, “ Maite Mix“ Their exciting
mixture of Latin, salsa and international music will
guarantee you a memorable evening.
At
1am (or much later!!!!) a spectacular firework display will
end your special day.
This suggested format for your special
day, may of course, be adapted to your own requirements
